Life is a Gift!
And yet, not all gifts come wrapped in pretty paper with bows on them. Some experiences are ‘wrapped in sandpaper’ because they are very difficult and chaotic to go through. Yet when looking back, it is gifts like these that often bring us the greatest insights, learning and change—- that transform our lives.
As I reflect on the experiences of the year 2011, I find gifts that have been delightful and gifts that have felt tough. One such gift has been the learning curves John and I have gone through as a couple. We have healed core beliefs of feeling unwanted and feel not accepted. We now enjoy a richer, deeper bond in our relationship that has grown this year. What a sweet gift he is in my life!
What gifts have you received this year? What has been your most difficult experience, and your most joyous, fun-filled, exciting and/or successful? What have you learned and gained? Have you changed because of them?
Happy Holidays! Thank you for receiving my messages. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me as we come to the end of 2011.
Quotes:
“Each day comes bearing its own gifts. Untie the ribbons.” ~Unknown
“It was a journey to fall in love with my skin, my lips, my hips and my hair. So it was not the journey you would think would lead to the life that I have (now). It was crawl before you walk; walk before you run; run before you leap—leap and then soar….I knew that I was going to empower and inspire someone and be of serves to some little girl or little boy who doesn’t celebrate themselves—who doesn’t see the gifts wrapped in sandpaper…. Because some of our gifts may come wrapped in sandpaper. Many of the things that were my struggles, were my gifts though they didn’t appear that way.” ~Lisa Nichols from “The Secret”
